Our latest shipment included some fabulous Guinness promotional pieces. These original oil-on-canvas originals created for the ad agency, SH Benson. Several are by John Gilroy - the artist responsible for creating the most famous Guinness advertising art concepts. The art was to be used as images for magazine ads. The pieces were submitted to the ad agency for review and we marked up and returned to the artist for changes. These pieces were NEVER produced for the ad campaign and so are truly "one of a kind"! The quality is really quite amazing when one considers the "preliminary" nature of the artist's concepts.
During our latest trip to England we selected an amazing variety of significant antiques including a substantial selection of match strikers. I think you'll agree that the unusually tangerine colored striker is particularly unique!
